1. American type suspension.
It’s a type of steel plate suspension. Also known as leaf spring suspension. It’s a common leaf spring suspension, which is mainly composed of leaf springs, suspension supports, connecting rods, U-bolts, etc.
The biggest advantages of this kind of trailer suspension are low cost, reliable operation and easy maintenance. Therefore, steel plate suspension is widely used in the largest proportion of domestic semi-trailers.
2. German type suspension.
It’s also a type of leaf spring suspension. It’s cheap,reliable and easily maintain.
Nowadays, more than 80% of semi-trailers in Asia and Africa use spring suspensions.
Spring suspensions are widely applied to these common semi trailers: skeleton trailers, flatbed trailers, tanker trailers,cement trailers, low bed trailers, dump trailers, etc.
3. Air Suspension.
It’s also known as air bag suspension, or lift axle air ride suspension. More widely applied in Europe and south American market.
It has advantages below:
①. Good shock absorption effect. Compared with traditional leaf springs suspension, air bags are obviously softer and more comfortable. They form a soft connection between the frame and the axle, which can greatly alleviate bumps and impacts from the road. It’s not only enhancing driving comfort, but also a type of protection for goods.
②. Reduce load stress. The compressibility of air allows the air bag suspension to easily cope with road bumps, while also reducing load stress, extending the service life of axles and semi-trailers, and reducing vehicle costs to a certain extent.
③. Its self weight is lighter. Light weighting is a current development trend in the trailer accessories industry. Compared with traditional suspension, air suspension is lighter in weight. Users with standard loads can get more free weight space, while users without loads can save fuel and energy. Increase efficiency.
④. Long service life. The air spring itself is relatively light, and the friction of the air medium in the air bag is also relatively small. The service life can be 2-3 times than leaf spring suspension, helping trailer owners to better save costs.
4. Single point bogie suspension.
Single-point suspension reduces the common leaf spring front and rear brackets into a single bracket and connects it to the vehicle body. It is rarely used on ordinary semi-trailers. Compared with ordinary leaf spring suspension, single-point suspension has a greater load-bearing capacity and is mainly used in on heavy duty vehicles.
